Mehbooba Mufti Claims Modi Regime Targets PDP for Opposing Article 370 Abrogation

Srinagar, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti has accused the Modi government of targeting her party due to their outspoken criticism of the oppression following the revocation of Article 370 in August 2019.

According to Kashmir Media Service, during a visit to her father’s grave in Srinagar, Mufti stated that the PDP leaders were subjected to coercion and temptations to defect from the party, reflecting the government’s efforts to silence dissent. She underscored her commitment to voicing the plight of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including Ladakh, in Parliament, despite facing numerous challenges.

Mufti emphasized the crucial role of public support in her fight against oppression and confirmed her participation in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls for the Islamabad-Rajouri seat, where she will be competing against candidates from the National Conference, Democratic Progressive Azad Party, and Apni Party.
