Karachi, May 16, 2013 (PPI-OT): KMC Metropolitan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan has directed heads of all departments to send recommendations for preparing upcoming budget of 2013-2014 along with improving revenue condition.
He said that officers should call weekly departmental meetings for improving recovery condition and submit performance report.
He said that recovery of municipal utility bills was getting better gradually but departments in this regard should enhance their recovery performance.
He said this while chairing a meeting of heads of various departments about recovery. On this occasion Financial Advisor Khalid Shaikh, Sr. Director Municipal Utility Bills Tahir Durrani, Sr. Director Local Taxes Mukhtar Hussain, Director Estate Muneer Ahmed and other officers were present.
He said that administration of commercial banks for recovery of municipal utility bills will be contacted. He said municipal utility bills were being received under approved resolution of City Council.
Matanat Ali Khan said that department should prepare a report on daily basis. Kachi abadis of KMC were also included in this network by which increase in revenue was expected.
The network of recovery of municipal utility bills of industrial areas were being improved and their recommendations were being considered as well in this connection meetings with high officials of Korangi Landhi Industrial Zone and North Karachi Industrial Zone have been held from which it was expected that recovery condition of industrial areas would improve.
He said that it was necessary to expand network of municipal utility bills in commercial areas and recovery from commercial and industrial consumers should improve. Billing complaints should be resolved immediately and citizens in this connection will be provided with all possible support.
Matanat Ali Khan said that recovery of Local Taxes Department from shop boards of city should improve.
