Minister for early release of development Funds, Scholarships for minorities

Islamabad, June 13, 2013 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has directed the ministry to issue development funds and scholarships to the minority community and complete development projects on time.

The Minister was talking to a meeting here on Thursday. Minister of State for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Peer Amin Al-Hasnat and other high officials of the ministry were also present in the meeting.

Senior Joint Secretary Sakandar Ismael Khan briefed the ministers about the performance, targets fixed for the welfare of the minorities and achievements of the ministry in detail.

The Minister expressed a commitment of the Government to draw the minorities in the main stream of national life as they have been playing vital role in the development of Pakistan and have contributed in every sphere of life.

The Federal Minister said all possible steps will be taken to uplift the marginalized communities of minority in the country and for the purpose maximum scholarships should be awarded to the students. Welfare and development schemes launched for them should be completed on time.

Talking on the occasion Minister of State for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Peer Amin Al-Hasnat said rights of the minorities should be protected and their complaints should be addressed at priority. Promotion of interfaith harmony, dialogue and interfaith relationships at national and international levels is the need of hour to deal with the challenges in current scenario, he added.

He said social and economic condition of the minorities can be uplifted by imparting them education and promoting interfaith harmony in the society.
