Minister for Housing and Works call on Prime Minister Gilani

Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that provision of basic amenities of life to all the citizen of Pakistan is the basic objective of the Government and in this regard various schemes have been introduced to directly provide relief to the downtrodden segments of the society. He mentioned that BISP and the Prime Minister’s Housing scheme for the low income clearly define the government’s agenda.

The Prime Minister was talking to Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, Minister for Housing and Works who called on him at PM’s House here this afternoon.

While referring to the implementation on 18th Constitutional Amendment, the Prime Minister said that the original democratic spirit of the Constitution has been restored. The future course of democratic dispensation in the country, he added would largely focus upon the promotion of reconciliation policy and consensus building on issues of national significance. He said that for the development and progress of the country at a sustainable rate all the democratic forces have to play their due role.

Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat informed the Prime Minister about the progress made on the Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme for low income group. He also briefed the Prime Minister about various steps taken for ensuring proper management of public welfare projects.
