Minister for Information has reiterated the resolve of the provincial government that service protection would be ensured to all the government employees of the devolved departments

Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Culture, Mian Iftikhar Hussain has reiterated the resolve of the provincial government that service protection would be ensured to all the government employees of the devolved departments and no one would be removed from service. He added that a viable strategy was being evolved for absorption of these employees.

This he said while chairing a meeting of the Cabinet committee on absorption of the employees of the devolved departments under 18th Constitut6ional Amendment at Peshawar on Friday. The meeting besides the Secretary Establishment Muhammad Aarifeen Khan was also attended by the authorities concerned of the Finance, Law and devolved departments.

The meeting was informed that under 18th constitutional amendment, total 17 ministries/divisions were devolved to the province with its employees out of whom 4107 employees have been absorbed while for the remaining, a strategy was being evolved.

The Information Minister on this occasion formed a committee under the chairmanship of Secretary Establishment for the purpose which would submit its report to the Cabinet Committee after consultation with the departments concerned.

Briefly speaking on the occasion, Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that absorption of the employees of the devolved departments was a very sensitive and important issue and would be taken seriously.

He clarified that no negligence in this regard would be tolerated as it was not the issue of some particular persons but rather the issue of hundreds of families. He warned that stern action would be taken against the department which show any negligence in this regard.
