Minister Zahid Hamid chairs meeting regarding restructuring of organisations working under ministry of Science and Technology

Islamabad, April 10, 2014 (PPI-OT): A meeting regarding the restructuring of various organizations working under the ministry of Science and Technology was held in the chairmanship of. Mr. Zahid Hamid, Federal Minister for Science and Technology. The purpose of the meeting was to review the administrative structure of the Ministry and its subsidiaries organizations to identify overlapping functions, over employment and redundancies.

The heads of various organizations like, Pakistan Council for Science and Technology, Pakistan Science Foundation, Pakistan National Accreditation Council, and Pakistan Council for Renewable Energy Technology, gave a detail presentation regarding the restructuring and reorientation of their respective organizations.

Speaking on the occasion the Minister reiterated the present government commitment of good governance and said that various steps should be taken to improve the efficiency and working of the public sector organizations.

He directed that the R and D organizations must be in close coordination with academia, and industries so that their R and D products be commercialized and the organizations got self sustainability. In the meeting senior officials of the ministry were also present.
