Modernized police facilitation and response centres would be established in the province: Inspector General Police Sindh

Karachi, March 15, 2016 (PPI-OT):A five members delegation of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) led by its Law and Order committees’ chairman Muhammad Akram Rajput called on IGP Sindh A.D. Khowaja at Central Police Office here today. The delegation congratulated IGP Sindh on his new assignment and assured of their full support on behalf of federation in particular and of business community in general.

On this occasion IGP said that a close working relationship among police, businessmen community and members of civil society was being evolved for strengthening police-public confidence and police department image. “In this connection, community policing concept will be explored in true sense”, he added. He further said that the so called traditional ‘Thana Culture’ would be eliminated and all police stations transformed into model police stations.

He said, “Steps would be ensured to facilitate general public visiting police stations in time of need; and all reluctant and irresponsible elements within police ranges would be dealt with severely. He informed the delegation that a mechanism of timely positive response was being evolved under which police facilitation and response centres would be established across the province. IGP was affirmed that proper training is must for capacity building of police personnel in order to achieve desirable results.” Investigation branch and Forensic laboratory are also being upgraded”, he added. He assured that good governance would be ensured within the department and all negative elements would be eliminated.
