Modi Government Accused of Misusing Air Force Resources for Private Event

New Delhi, Allegations have surfaced against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government for inappropriate utilization of Indian Air Force (IAF) resources during a high-profile private event, leading to significant public outcry.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the government is under scrutiny for allegedly deploying over 600 IAF flights for transportation and logistical purposes during the extravagant wedding of business tycoon Mukesh Ambani’s son. The affair, which drew attention for its opulence, reportedly involved the extensive use of Jamnagar Airport—a critical military asset—raising questions about the misuse of national defense resources.

The controversy began when a letter from the Reliance Group to the Defense Secretary, initially requesting support for 30 to 40 aircraft, was leaked. The scale of the actual operation far exceeded this, with demands stretching to facilitate over 600 flights. This included landing and takeoff services at the Jamnagar facility, which was temporarily converted into an international airport to accommodate the influx of global guests.

The decision to use a strategic military airbase for private functions has sparked widespread criticism, with many viewing it as a blurring of lines between state responsibilities and private interests. The use of IAF planes and infrastructure for non-governmental purposes, particularly during an event of personal significance, has ignited debates on governance and the prioritization of public resources.

Calls have intensified for an in-depth investigation into the matter, with critics urging transparency and accountability in the government’s handling of national assets. The incident has fueled concerns about potential governance lapses and the prioritization of private over public interests under the current administration.
