Islamabad: Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) has successfully completed the appraisal program for the Ghazij gas discovery, and has initiated the Extended Well Test (EWT) production, supplying approximately 30 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL).
Following its prior disclosures regarding the Ghazij discovery within the Mari Development and Production Lease (DandPL) area, MPCL informed stakeholders that the comprehensive appraisal program involved the drilling and testing of four appraisal wells, alongside one exploratory well. As of today, all five wells are actively participating in the EWT program, contributing significantly to the national gas supply.
According to information available from the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), MPCL, which holds a 100% working interest as the operator of the Mari DandPL, is currently developing the Field Development Plan. This strategic document is anticipated to be submitted to regulatory authorities for approval shortly, marking a crucial step in the commercial exploitation of the Ghazij gas reserves.
This update has been shared in alignment with Section 96 of the Securities Act, 2015, and Clause 5.6.1 (a) of the PSX Regulations, ensuring compliance with market disclosure requirements and maintaining transparency with members of the exchange and the investing public.
