NA Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq Emphasizes Unity and Reflection on Youm-e-Ashura

Islamabad: In a message marking Youm-e-Ashura, Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq called on the nation to embody the spirit of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions (AS) by promoting harmony, unity, and brotherhood, in accordance with the principles of Islam.

According to National Assembly of Pakistan announcement issued on 16 July 2024, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq highlighted the exemplary qualities of patience, sacrifice, and martyrdom as demonstrated by Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions, urging the nation to follow their virtuous path. The Speaker’s message stressed the importance of rising above differences and uniting against the suppression of innocent people, referencing the ongoing crises in Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. He emphasized that standing together against oppression honors the legacy of the martyrs of Karbala.

Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah added that Youm-e-Ashura serves as a reminder of the eternal battle between truth and falsehood, teaching persistence in the struggle against tyranny and oppression, principles taught by the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) and upheld by his followers.
