National Assembly Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development meets

Islamabad, March 24, 2016 (PPI-OT):The Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development met today under the Chairmanship of Mir Aamer Ali Khan Magsi, MNA to consider the issue of purchase of land/assets by the EOBI an attached department of Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development.

The Committee took serious notice of the embezzlements of Rs. 34 billion in the purchase of land by the Employees Old- Age Benefits Institution (EOBI). The Committee expressed concern over the non-registration of FIRs on the persons involved. The Committee also expressed concern over the non-arrest of the culprits nominated in the FIRs.

The Committee directed the FIA authorities to submit the report regarding the progress in the investigation of embezzlement cases. The Committee invited the NAB Authorities in the upcoming meeting to consider the cases and devise the strategy for speedy recovery.

Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan, Syed Sajid Medhi, Mian Najeebuddin Awaisi, Mian Imtiaz Ahmad, Mr. Khial Zaman Orakzai, Sheikh Salahuddin, Ms. Aliya Kamaran and Ms. Aisha, MNAs attended the meeting, besides officials of Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development.
