National Disaster Management Authority asks Provincial Disaster Management Authorities of Sindh and Balochistan, Pakistan Maritime Security Agency to exercise high vigilance

Islamabad: A massive earthquake measuring 8.6 has struck Sumatra, Indonesia today. Following the earthquake, Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre has issued warning of tsunami which may affect 28 countries including Balochistan and Sindh coastline of Pakistan.

The National Disaster Management Authority has asked the Provincial Disaster Management Authorities of Sindh and Balochistan besides Pakistan Maritime Security Agency to exercise high vigilance and take all necessary precautionary measures to avoid loss of lives and damage to public as well as private property and to ensure that fishermen do not venture into open sea till the tsunami threat is over.
