NDMA Convenes National Conference to Combat Summer Hazards

Karachi, The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has successfully convened the National Summer Hazards Coordination Conference 2024, led by Chairman Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik. The conference gathered key stakeholders to formulate strategies against seasonal disasters such as heat waves, heavy rainfall, water scarcity, and floods, marking a significant step towards enhancing disaster preparedness and response in Pakistan.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department, the conference was organized with a proactive stance, aiming to bolster coordination among various entities. It sought to empower stakeholders to implement preemptive actions to protect lives, livelihoods, and infrastructure from the imminent threats of natural calamities expected in the upcoming 5-6 months.

This initiative by the NDMA highlights the country’s commitment to adopting a forward-thinking approach to disaster management, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and preparedness in mitigating the effects of seasonal hazards on the population and the economy.
