NDMA Issues Weather Alert for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Anticipates Monsoon Rains

Islamabad: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert predicting moderate to heavy monsoon rains across various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from August 14 to 18, 2024. The anticipated weather conditions raise concerns about potential urban and flash flooding in the region, prompting warnings for tourists and local residents to take precautionary measures.

According to Press Information Department, the forecast includes significant rainfall in areas such as Hazara, Malakand Division, and several major districts including Peshawar and DI Khan. The NDMA has instructed relevant departments to prepare Emergency Response Teams and mobilize resources to address any potential emergencies caused by the rains. The authority also recommends that the public stay informed through the ‘Pak NDMA Disaster Alert’ mobile app and adhere to guidance from local authorities to mitigate the impact of the expected adverse weather conditions.
