Newly-elected Arts Council office-bearers take oath

Karachi: Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan who administered oath to the newly elected office-bearers and governing body members of the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi assured fullest cooperation and assistance in the objectives set by the Arts Council to promote art and culture. He appreciated the efforts and plans made by the office-bearers of the Arts Council in promoting art, culture, literature and other healthy values not only in the Arts Council for the biggest city of the country that is Karachi.

The newly elected President of the Arts Council Muhammad Ahmad Shah in his speech welcomed the chief guest for coming to administer the oath and threw light on the future plans of the council’s office-bearers for the advancement of the members of the council and promotion of art and culture in the city.

Secretary Arts Council Prof Ejaz Faruqi also made a speech and thanked the chief guest and audience. Vice President Mehmood Ahmed Khan, Joint Secretary Muhammad Amin Yousuf, Treasurer Dr Huma Mir and newly elected members of the governing body including Prof Sahar Ansari, Fatima Surria Bajia, Shehnaz Siddiqui, Farhad Zaidi, Dr Qaiser Sajid, Athar Waqar Azeem, Qudsia Akbar, Naqqash Kazimi, Majeed Abadani, Iqbal Latif and Sa’adat Jafferey were present at the function.
