NIA attaches property of jailed APHC leader Ayaz Akbar in Srinagar

Srinagar, June 13, 2023 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, dreaded National Investigation Agency (NIA) along with Indian paramilitary personnel attached the property of illegally detained APHC spokesman and Tehreek-e-Hurriyet leader Aiyaz Akbar in Srinagar district on Tuesday. APHC spokesman Ayaz Akbar is facing illegal detention in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail since 2017.

The dreaded agency pasted the notice of attachment on the immovable property that read “this is to inform all members of the public that the immovable property i.e. land measuring 1 Kanal and 10 Marlas at Shalteng area of Srinagar district(J8K), in the name of Muhammad Akbar Khanday has been attached under the Orders of the Special NIA Court”.

Ayaz Akbar is presently serving detention in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail since past seven years. His wife passed away in April 2021 after losing battle to cancer. The BJP-led Indian government in pursuit of the Israeli model continues to confiscate the Kashmiris’ lands and properties and in the latest case its dreaded National Investigation Agency (NIA) has attached the properties including houses, lands, offices of the people of Jammu and Kashmir who are demanding peace with their righteous demand of right to self-determination.

The NIA had arrested dozens of Hurriyat leaders and activists including Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Masarrat Aalam Butt, Aasiya Andrabi, Naheeda Nasreen, Fehmeeda Sofi, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Merajuddin Kalwal, Pir Saifullah, Shahid-ul-Islam, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Syed Shahid Yousuf, Syed Shakeel Yousuf and Zahoor Ahmad Watali on fake charges to silence democratic and freedom voice of Kashmiris.
