Islamabad, June 13, 2023 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has assured the federal government’s full support to Sindh government to deal with the cyclone at coastal areas of the province. He gave the assurance while telephonically discussing the latest situation of the cyclone and preparations for it with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. The Prime Minister said the federal government departments are ever ready to assist Sindh government in protection of life and property of citizens.
He stressed the need to formulate an effective strategy for implementation by relevant federal and provincial departments to address concerns about ships, fishermen, coastal infrastructure, risk of flooding and issues related to Thatta, Badin and other south-western areas. He also directed to ensure evacuation of people from these areas to safer places.
The Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister about the steps taken for early warning and conveying information to the people in these areas. Shehbaz Sharif commended Sindh government for the prior arrangements and expressed hope that the situation would be overcome with support of the people.
