Lahore, Octopus Digital Limited, in a board meeting held on Tuesday, 30 April 2024 in Lahore and online, declared no new dividends, bonus shares, rights shares, or other corporate actions for the first quarter ended 31 March 2024. The unaudited financial statements for the period were disclosed as per the details attached. These documents, along with the quarterly report, will be submitted through PUCARS in due course.
For the first quarter of 2024, the Octopus Digital Group reported a consolidated profit after taxation of 123,697 thousand rupees, a decrease from the previous year’s 243,215 thousand rupees. Revenue for the group rose significantly to 313,859 thousand rupees from 94,446 thousand rupees in the same quarter of the previous year. However, the group’s operational profit declined to 134,725 thousand rupees from 262,445 thousand rupees. The earnings per share also fell from 1.64 to 0.84.
In the standalone financial statements for Octopus Digital Limited, the company posted a profit after taxation of 39,486 thousand rupees, significantly lower than the previous year’s 243,215 thousand rupees. The revenue observed a moderate increase to 219,202 thousand rupees, from 94,446 thousand rupees in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The profit from operations stood at 50,437 thousand rupees, a drastic fall from 262,445 thousand rupees. The earnings per share decreased from 1.64 to 0.27.
