OIC provides urgent assistance to Afghanistan to fight drought

Jeddah, The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), represented by the Islamic Solidarity Fund (SFD), has approved urgent humanitarian assistance to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to alleviate the effects of the severe drought that resulted in the displacing of a large number of people.

Secretary General of the OIC Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen noted that the assistance will come in the form of food and means of shelter.

He expressed OIC’s solidarity with Afghanistan, adding that the SFD will spare no effort to consolidate the concepts of humanitarian works for the service of the Islamic Ummah.
