Srinagar, Omar Abdullah, Vice President of the National Conference, has urged for renewed talks between Pakistan and India to resolve the longstanding Kashmir issue.
According to Kashmir Media Service, during a public gathering in Kupwara, Abdullah called for both nations to create a conducive environment for dialogue. He pointed to the increased pro-freedom activities in areas like Srinagar, Rajouri, and Poonch, noting a significant rise in such movements compared to his time as Chief Minister. Abdullah invoked former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s words on the inevitability of neighbors, underscoring the necessity for peaceful coexistence and collaboration.
He emphasized the joint responsibility of both governments to foster conditions favorable for dialogue, reiterating his party’s commitment to peaceful resolution methods, including the contentious issue of Article 370’s abrogation.
