Nuclear Legacy of Bhutto and Sharif Celebrated by Sindh Energy Minister

Karachi, The Provincial Minister for Energy and Development and Planning in Sindh, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, commemorated the efforts of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Mian Nawaz Sharif in establishing Pakistan as a nuclear power. The minister praised their pivotal roles during a speech on the anniversary of Youm-e-Takbeer, the day marking Pakistan’s first successful nuclear tests.

According to Directorate General Information and PRs – Sindh, Minister Shah highlighted the historical significance of May 28, which he described as a day that solidified Pakistan’s defense capabilities and established its status as the first nuclear power in the Muslim world and the seventh globally. He credited Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto with laying the foundation for the country’s nuclear program and Mian Nawaz Sharif with its culmination in successful nuclear detonations, despite significant international pressure.

The minister also acknowledged Shaheed Benazir Bhutto for her role in advancing the nuclear program with courage and innovation. He asserted that Pakistan’s nuclear assets are securely maintained and defended by capable armed forces, ensuring the nation’s invincibility and regional power balance.
