Pakistan always welcomes technological support from developed countries: Asim Hussain

Islamabad: Dr. Asim Hussain Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources has said that Pakistan always welcomes technological support from developed countries particularly United States. The two countries are active partners in the war against terrorism and USA has been providing assistance to Pakistan in all fields of the economy.

He was talking to Mr. Daniel Stein, Senior Advisor, Office of the Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy, U.S. Department of State, who called on the Minister for Petroleum here in Islamabad today. Mr. Muhammad Ejaz Chaudhry, Secretary, Petroleum and Natural Resources and Mr. Mobin Saulat, Managing Director, Inter-State Gas Company Ltd. were also present on the occasion.

Dr. Asim Hussain warmly welcomed the US Senior Advisor and accompanying members of delegation and reassured that energy security is vital for Pakistan’s economic growth. Federal Minister for Petroleum informed the US Senior Advisor about the ongoing projects of the oil and gas sector in Pakistan and thanked the US government for taking interest in the energy sector of Pakistan.

The Federal Minister emphasized that the energy sector requires special attention and said that he is personally making efforts to resolve the problems faced by the Oil and Gas Sector. Dr. Asim Hussain said that government is undertaking to develop an effective business model for the energy sector.

Mr. Daniel Stein thanked the Minister for meeting the US delegation and appreciated the efforts made by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources for resolving the energy crisis and assured that the US Government would extend all possible help in the energy sector.
