Islamabad: General Li Qiaoming, Commander of the People’s Liberation Army Ground Forces of China, met with Pakistan’s Minister for Defence and Defence Production, Khawaja Mohammad Asif, today, emphasizing the enduring strategic partnership between the two nations.

According to Press Information Department, Minister Asif highlighted the significance of Pakistan-China relations as a foundational aspect of Pakistan’s foreign policy, noting their shared perspectives on various regional and global issues. The discussions reaffirmed the long-standing cooperation across multiple domains, including security and intelligence sharing, particularly in the context of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the evolving security dynamics in the region.

The Minister expressed gratitude for China’s consistent support in Pakistan’s efforts against terrorism, both diplomatically and materially, at various international platforms. The meeting also underscored the importance of a stable Afghanistan for regional peace, a sentiment echoed by both parties as critical to their strategic interests.
