Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Agree to Enhance Energy Cooperation

Islamabad: Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to further strengthen energy cooperation following a meeting between Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik and Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki in Islamabad.

According to Radio Pakistan, Ali Pervaiz Malik emphasized Pakistan’s intention to expand its strategic energy partnership with Saudi Arabia, specifically with Saudi Aramco. He expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for prioritizing Pakistan in petroleum supplies, underscoring the importance of Saudi cooperation in meeting the country’s energy needs.

The Saudi Ambassador highlighted Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace and regional stability and assured full support from Saudi Arabia in addressing Pakistan’s energy security challenges.

The meeting also covered discussions on energy security, refinery upgradation options, and a review of ongoing cooperation in the energy sector. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding investment opportunities and collaboration in the energy sector.
