Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Pledge to Strengthen Economic and Strategic Ties

Islamabad, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today hosted Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud and his delegation, underscoring the deep, strategic ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and discussing avenues to expedite Saudi investment initiatives in Pakistan.

According to Press Information Department, Prime Minister Sharif expressed profound gratitude towards the leadership of Saudi Arabia, emphasizing the significant, long-standing fraternal, economic, and strategic relationships between the two nations. He recalled his recent productive discussions in Makkah with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and noted that the timely visit of the Saudi delegation was a testament to both countries’ dedication to bolstering bilateral relations.

The talks also focused on operationalizing Saudi investments in Pakistan swiftly, with the Prime Minister highlighting the role of Pakistan’s Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) and the essential support of the Chief of the Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, in promoting these investments. The Saudi Foreign Minister appreciated Pakistan’s hospitality and reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to enhancing the strategic and economic partnership.

Moreover, both leaders discussed the escalating situation in the occupied Palestinian Territories, reflecting their mutual concerns over regional stability.
