Pakistan and UN Discuss Forthcoming Summit of the Future

Islamabad, In a significant meeting at the United Nations headquarters in New York, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Munir Akram, conferred with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres regarding the upcoming Summit of the Future.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the discussions were centered around ensuring that the outcomes of the Summit address the pressing needs of developing countries. Both the envoy and the UN chief expressed hope for the Summit’s role in tackling the challenges faced by these nations.

Ambassador Munir Akram lauded Secretary-General Guterres’s dedication to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and highlighted the importance of his leadership in fostering beneficial outcomes for all stakeholders. During the meeting, Ambassador Akram presented a booklet to the UN Secretary-General showcasing the contributions of Pakistani female peacekeepers to global peace efforts under the auspices of the United Nations.
