Pakistan Army engaged in rescuing people stranded at Karakoram Highway

Pakistan Army, with the collaboration of civil defence is fully engaged to rescue the stranded people and removing debris from the Karakoram Highway due to the land sliding.

The Karakoram Highway was blocked due to the three-day continuous rainfall cum land sliding.

Yesterday, people stuck in twenty vehicles were rescued by Pakistan Army. The stranded people were offered edibles and medicines from the Gilgit Baltistan Scouts.

A drone was also used to make the rescue operation more effective. Similarly, Frontier Works Organization and Civil Defence both participated in the road clearance operations along with Pakistan Army.

The affected families commended the timely response of Pakistan Army and civil defence in the wake of land sliding.
