Pakistan-Bangladesh Trade Set to Hit $1 Billion Mark, Says Deputy High Commissioner

Karachi: Bangladesh’s Deputy High Commissioner, S.M. Mahbubul Alam, announced that the trade volume between Pakistan and Bangladesh is expected to reach one billion dollars soon. This statement was made during the launching ceremony of the third Made in Pakistan Single-Country Exhibition and Business Conference.

Currently, the trade volume stands at 800 million dollars. Alam noted that sixteen trade delegations from Pakistan have visited Bangladesh this year, indicating a growing economic relationship between the two nations.

The event, organized by the Pakistan Association of Exhibition Industry, will take place from September 23 to 27 at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

TDAP Secretary Shehryar Taj highlighted that women will receive a 50% discount for participating in exhibitions this year, as the TDAP Board has approved participation in 126 exhibitions worldwide, with a focus on promoting IT.

FPCCI Senior Vice President Saqib Fayyaz Magoon emphasized the need for direct flights between Pakistan and Bangladesh, citing increased business activity. He noted that the exhibition could open new avenues for trade.

Chairman Fahad Barlas detailed that the exhibition will showcase products from various sectors, including textiles, food products, and consumer goods. Founding Chairman Khurshid Barlas stated that the event aims to introduce Pakistani products to the Bangladeshi market and foster stronger trade relations.

A documentary film was also shown, featuring previous exhibitions in Saudi Arabia, the UK, and Bahrain.
