Pakistan Calls for Action on Women’s Rights in Conflict Zones

Islamabad, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Munir Akram, has voiced serious concerns about the condition of women in conflict-ridden areas, particularly those under foreign occupation like Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Ambassador Akram highlighted the challenges faced by women in such regions during an event organized by the Group of Friends in New York to commemorate International Women’s Day. He stressed that women in these areas are subjected to a spectrum of adversities including violence, exploitation, and the systematic violation of human rights without repercussions.

The ambassador underscored the deprivation of educational, health, and economic opportunities for these women due to the harsh realities of foreign occupation, leading to persistent poverty and marginalization.
