Pakistan Marks 77th Independence Day with Vibrant Celebrations in Doha

Doha: The Embassy of Pakistan in Doha hosted a flag-hoisting ceremony to celebrate the 77th Independence Anniversary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, drawing hundreds of community members to commemorate the occasion with patriotic fervor.

According to Press Information Department, Ambassador Muhemmed Aejaz led the celebrations by hoisting the Pakistan flag at the embassy located in Doha’s diplomatic area. The event featured the collective recitation of the National Anthem and the reading of messages from Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, and Deputy Prime Minister/Minister for Foreign Affairs, emphasizing the nation’s commitment to progress and prosperity.

In his address, Ambassador Aejaz reflected on the significance of Independence Day as a reminder of the sacrifices made to establish an independent Islamic state and urged the Pakistani community to strive for excellence in service to their country. He also highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by Kashmiris in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and reiterated Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian cause, citing recent resolutions passed by Pakistan’s Senate and National Assembly.

The ambassador commended the active engagement between Pakistan and Qatar throughout 2024 and praised the Pakistani community in Qatar for their contributions to the bilateral relations. He expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani and the Qatari leadership for supporting the Pakistani diaspora, offering excellent employment opportunities and living conditions.

The ceremony concluded with prayers for the continued progress, prosperity, and solidarity of Pakistan.
