Pakistan, Russia seek stronger military ties

Pakistan and Russia have expressed desire in strengthening bilateral military-to-military relationship.

The desired was expressed during a meeting between Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and the Russian delegation.

The delegation included Deputy Defence Minister Colonel General Alexander Fomin, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Aleksandr Venediktov and Deputy Chief of General Staff of Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Colonel General S. Y. Istrakov in Russia.

During the meeting, the participants underscored the importance of working on enhancing cooperation in multiple domains, including connectivity, trade, energy and security.

Both sides discussed areas of mutual interest including bilateral military and military technical cooperation, regional security situation and the menace of terrorism.
