Pakistan- Switzerland bilateral trade in 2015 surged by 10percent: Consulate General

Karachi, April 07, 2016 (PPI-OT):According to Swiss Customs Administration latest statistics, the bilateral trade volume between Pakistan and Switzerland during 2015 has increased by almost 10% (total CHF 416 Million). Main factors of this growth are Swiss machines exports to Pakistan that rose by 25% as well as increase in Pakistan textile exports to Switzerland (although not under European Union’s GSP Plus regime).

Over the past decade, Swiss companies have invested more than CHF 1.5 Billion in Pakistan. It also merits to mention that despite the Swiss National Bank’s decision, in January 2015, to discontinue CHF to Euro minimum exchange rate, Switzerland global exports stood at CHF 203 Billion with a trade surplus of CHF 36 Billion.
