Pakistan Urges India to Abide by UN Resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir

Islamabad, In a pointed response to recent criticisms from India, Pakistan has reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir remains a disputed territory recognized internationally, urging India to comply with United Nations Security Council resolutions calling for a plebiscite to determine the region’s future.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch addressed these issues following remarks from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs. Baloch emphasized that the UN resolutions require a democratic process to resolve the status of Jammu and Kashmir, contrary to India’s claims of sovereignty over the area. The spokesperson also defended the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a legitimate development project between two sovereign states, criticizing India’s objections to the initiative.
