Pakistani and Bahraini Ministers to co-chair Pak-Bahrain Conference on 25th September: Javed Malik

Islamabad, September 23, 2016 (PPI-OT):The first and the largest Pakistan Bahrain Business Opportunities Conference being organized by Pakistan Embassy in the Kingdom of Bahrain will be co-chaired by Pakistani and Bahraini Commerce Ministers and a large number of businessmen and investors from Bahrain, and other Gulf countries are expected to attend the conference being organized on 25th September 2016.

Speaking about the conference, the Ambassador of Pakistan, Javed Malik said that “the participation of both Ministers sends a very positive signal to the business community in both countries that the government is fully supportive of expanding the business and trade relations between our people and our governments.

Ambassador Javed Malik further stated that, “The Business to Business session will be jointly chaired by the Presidents of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce of both countries and this is also a very welcome step for the business communities to enhance the level of their interaction, and work closely with each other in taking forward the economic ties between their countries, says a press release received here today from Bahrain.

While highlighting Pakistan’s trade potential Ambassador Javed Malik said that “Being a large agricultural economy, we have vast and fertile lands and Pakistan can be a ‘green basket” for Bahrain and the GCC region. Our fruits, vegetables, livestock and agro-based products are finest in the world. In my meetings with the BCCI and Bahraini businessmen, I understand that there are many opportunities in this regard and we would be keen to take this further during the meetings”.

“Pakistan exports some of the finest products to the world, and while agro and livestock products such as Rice, Grains, Halal Meat, seafood, wheat and poultry remain a key areas, we also exporting some of the finest textiles, leather goods, sports goods surgical goods. Some of the leading sports companies of global repute are importing sports goods and equipment from Pakistan.

Additionally we have a vast presence of minerals, onyx, salt and many precious metals which are in great demand globally. Our cement, and building material industry as well as defence industry is on the upswing and we believe that there is tremendous scope to expand our exports to Bahrain and the GCC region.

The Conference will be attended by members of the royal family, ministers, top business leaders and distinguished delegates from Bahrain, Dubai, Qatar and Saudi Arabia which would create a wonderful opportunity for Pakistani businessmen to highlight the business, trade and investment potential of Pakistan.
