Srinagar, January 28, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the closure of the Pathribal fake encounter case by Indian Army has drawn flak from pro-freedom organisations describing the act it as mockery of justice. The spokesman for Jamaat-e-Islami of occupied Kashmir in a statement issued in Srinagar demanded a fresh probe by an international body into the Pathribal fake encounter.
The Jamaat said that the verdict of army court to close the murder case had caused a great shock to the entire Kashmiri population as it amounted to a blatant violation of the rules of natural justice. The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League in its statement termed the winding up of the case by the Indian army as a deception with the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The spokesman for Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League, Muhammad Rafiq Ganai said that India was trying to weaken the Kashmiris’ resolve for freedom through staging fake encounters. Hurriyet leader, Muhammad Khan Sopori described the act as shameful and said that Pathribal-like incidents were enough to open the eyes of the outside world.
