Pharmaceutical Exports Surge Due to Special Investment Facilitation Council Initiatives

Islamabad: The pharmaceutical industry in Pakistan has seen significant growth, attributed largely to the initiatives by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). This progress is marked by a notable increase in both the value and volume of medicine exports during the financial year 2023-24.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics reports that the exports of medicines have risen by 3.90 percent in value and 44 percent in quantity over the past year. The figures climbed from $328 million and 59,00 metric tons last year to 85,00 metric tons this year.

This growth highlights the effectiveness of SIFC’s efforts in enhancing the global competitiveness of Pakistan’s pharmaceutical sector, positioning it as a key player in the international market.
