PLRA Initiates Digitization of Punjab’s Land Records for Enhanced Public Service

Lahore: Director Software Development, Punjab Land Record Authority Mohsin Tanveer has stated that PLRA is an autonomous body of the Punjab government established to digitize land records across the province and to provide citizens with transparent, efficient, and reliable services.

According to Radio Pakistan, in an interview with Correspondent Qasim Bukhari, Tanveer explained that the primary objective of PLRA is to replace the traditional Patwari system with a modern, computerized land record management system. This new system will enable citizens to easily access services such as ownership verification, issuance of Fard, and property transfer.

He also mentioned that PLRA has launched special facilities for overseas Pakistanis to conveniently access land-related services pertaining to Punjab. Pakistanis residing in London can now visit the Pakistani Consulate to avail themselves of services related to their lands in Punjab.

Furthermore, Tanveer announced that similar services will soon be extended to Pakistani communities residing in countries like Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, United States, Spain, and Italy.

In response to a question, Tanveer highlighted that PLRA has introduced the ‘Punjab Zameen App’, which allows users to conveniently access various land-related services. Through the app, users can obtain all types of Fard after verification and keep track of their land-related transactions.
