Prime Minister includes Chairman National Disaster Management Authority in a high level Flood Relief Committee

Islamabad: The recent floods have devastated Sindh. The plight of the affected population does not seem to end as the continued torrential rains are worsening the situation.

In order to ensure provision of timely rescue and relief to the flood affectees and monitor all such activities, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has formed a high level Flood Relief Committee.

The committee members include Syed Khurshid Shah, Qamar uz Zaman Kaira, Zamurd Khan, Raja Parvez Ashraf, Cabinet Secretary, Secretary Information, PS to the PM and the Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Dr. Zafar Qadir.

The committee held its debut meeting in NDMA headquarters. The session discussed the current flood situation and the ongoing rescue and relief activities.
