Lahore, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif emphasized the need to renew the pledge to realize Allama Muhammad Iqbal’s vision for Pakistan, focusing on peace, political tolerance, and brotherhood. He highlighted the importance of consistent effort to achieve Iqbal’s dream during a message commemorating the 86th death anniversary of Dr. Muhammad Iqbal.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Shehbaz Sharif noted that Allama Iqbal envisioned a Pakistan driven by a youth committed to progress and development. He commended Iqbal’s emphasis on the unity of the Muslim Ummah and his efforts to inspire the youth to remember the sacrifices of their forefathers.
The Prime Minister praised Iqbal’s philosophy of self-hood, or “Khudi,” as a guiding principle for individual development and societal progress. He mentioned that modern universities worldwide continue to study Iqbal’s teachings, demonstrating the enduring relevance of his philosophy. Iqbal’s work, the Prime Minister said, has influenced generations and resonates through his verses and writings in Persian and Urdu.
Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to Allama Iqbal’s contributions, acknowledging that Iqbal’s dream of a separate homeland for Muslims in the Indo-Pak subcontinent was realized through the efforts of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other leaders of the Muslim League.
As Pakistan commemorates the legacy of Allama Iqbal, the Prime Minister’s message underscores the importance of embracing Iqbal’s teachings and striving to embody his vision for a united and progressive Pakistan.
