Prime Minister’s Azerbaijan Visit Aims to Bolster Economic Ties

Karachi: The Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to Baku, Azerbaijan, is anticipated to enhance the relationship between the two nations, both members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Economic Cooperation Organization.

According to a statement by United Business Group, Gulzar Firoz, this sentiment was echoed by UBG President Zubair Tufail and leaders Khalid Tawab, Hanif Gohar, and Syed Mazhar Ali Nasir.

The discussions are expected to increase business community confidence, ultimately strengthening bilateral relations and expanding trade and investment. Key areas of cooperation include energy, climate change, and cultural exchanges.

The Pakistan-Azerbaijan Business Forum and subsequent B2B meetings are projected to offer businesses from both countries a chance to explore joint ventures and enhance trade relations. Currently, bilateral trade volume is $7 million, with Pakistan exporting $5.7 million and importing $1.3 million.

UBG leaders suggested organizing solo exhibitions in each country to promote trade and cultural exchanges. They also highlighted the importance of expanding direct flights to boost tourism and trade, and called for increased interaction between trade bodies to facilitate business activities.
