Protest in Kathua against manhandling of Sikh youth by police

Jammu, March 21, 2023 (PPI-OT): In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the residents staged protest against the manhandling of a Sikh youth in Kathua district. The protesters blocked the road in protest against the police for harassing a Kabaddi player, Jeevan Singh, in Marheen, Sangi Morh area of the district.

The road remained blocked for more than two hours due to sit-in by the locals at Sangi Morh, which disrupted the traffic movement. The incident took place when a police party led by a deputy superintendent police slapped a Kabbadi player youth, Jeevan Singh, at a naka and asked subjected him to vigorous questioning. During the questioning, the police officer slapped the youth.

This prompted the locals to take to streets against the police highhandedness. They raised slogans against police and demanded an apology from the police officer for this manhandling act.
