Punjab Police Implements Extensive Security Plan for Eid-ul-Adha Cattle Markets

Lahore, As Eid-ul-Adha approaches, the Punjab Police have finalized an extensive security plan to safeguard cattle markets across the province. Under the leadership of Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar, more than 3,000 officers and officials have been deployed to ensure the safety of 227 cattle markets throughout Punjab.

According to Punjab Police, the security strategy includes rigorous measures to protect both cattle traders and buyers. Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that only authorized cattle markets approved by the district administration are allowed to operate, with strict instructions to take legal action against any unauthorized markets.

The deployment of security personnel is part of a broader effort to maintain order and safety during the significant influx of citizens to these markets. The police have arranged for specialized teams, including the Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit, and various patrolling teams, to monitor and respond to any criminal activities promptly.

Specifically, the police spokesperson detailed the allocation of forces: Lahore has over 500 officers for 10 markets, Sheikhupura has 200 for 20 markets, Gujranwala 600 for 39 markets, Rawalpindi over 100 for 11 markets, Sargodha 200 for 26 markets, Faisalabad 300 for 20 markets, Multan 275 for 19 markets, Sahiwal 150 for 11 markets, Dera Ghazi Khan over 200 for 32 markets, and Bahawalpur over 300 for 39 markets.
