Qaim, Malik chair meeting on law and order

Karachi, June 18, 2012 (PPI-OT): Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Advisor for Interior Affairs Mr. Rehman Malik co-chaired law and order meeting today at Chief Minister House. The meeting was attended among others by Chief Secretary Sindh Raja Muhammad Abbas; Director General Rangers Sindh Maj. General Rizwan Akhtar; Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Syed Sohail Akbar Shah; I.G Police Sindh Syed Mushtaq Ahmed Shah; Commissioner Karachi Mr. Roshan Ali Shaikh, Commander M.I; Commander ISI; Additional I.G Police Special Branch; Additional I.G.CID, DIG’s of Police. Chief Minister Sindh speaking on the occasion stressed upon Police Rangers and agencies to be more vigilance and make prompt measures to control the activities of criminals, bhatakhors, and robbers in Karachi.

He said that police and rangers are doing good jobs but the same is to be further enhanced, so as to maintain peace in Karachi. Syed Qaim Ali Shah stressed upon Law enforcement agencies to control the killings of people, while all aspects regarding target killing under ethnic, sectarian and bhattakhori be fully monitored and controlled. He stressed upon police and rangers to properly project and highlight the achievements of LEA’s through all sources of information and media.

Advisor for Interior Affairs Mr. Rehman Malik that there are certain political behind such unrest and lawlessness and we have to detect the enemies of people. He added that the action should be across the board and drastic action should be taken against the criminals. The Director General Rangers, I.G. Police Sindh and intelligence agencies presented detailed reports about he situation prevailing in Karachi.

The meeting appreciated the efforts of Police and Rangers particularly the recent action of police and Rangers resulted to arrest of number of high value criminals. It was further decided in the meeting that targeted action against the criminals shall be more well coordinated at all levels. It was stressed upon the participants of meeting to have sound proof and evidence against the target killers and bhattakhors, and directives were issued to ensure action by Police and rangers without and discrimination.

It was also decided that the investigation report of these criminals and the claims of the criminals for their connection with some political parties shall be shared with the leadership and will be confront with the leadership and will be confront with them.

It was further decided that the information about those criminals will be released to the public after forthcoming meeting with the political parties, On a report , it was decided that no private barriers should be allowed in the streets, while a meeting of political parties will be held in the next week.
