Raipur, In a continued spate of violence in Chhattisgarh state, Indian security forces reportedly killed three youths during a search operation in the Pujari Kanker forest area of Bijapur district, intensifying the ongoing conflict with Naxalite groups.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the encounter took place in a dense forest region where Indian paramilitary and police personnel engaged with Naxalites, resulting in the deaths. A senior police official confirmed the incident and mentioned that the operation led to an exchange of fire that resulted in casualties on the Naxalite side, with search activities still ongoing in the vicinity.
This recent operation follows a pattern of escalated confrontations in Bijapur district, where earlier actions by Indian forces resulted in multiple fatalities among Naxalite ranks. The Naxalite movement, associated with the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist), has been advocating for autonomy from Indian rule, representing tribal and Dalit communities across several Indian states.
The continued unrest in areas like Chhattisgarh highlights the deep-seated tensions between Indian authorities and Naxalite forces, reflecting broader socio-political issues in the region.
