Reforms Under “Uraan Pakistan” Target Healthcare Sector

Lahore: Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has announced significant reforms being introduced in the healthcare sector under the “Uraan Pakistan” initiative. He made the announcement while addressing a ceremony in Lahore.

According to Radio Pakistan, the minister outlined a three-year program aimed at addressing the country’s health challenges. As part of the initiative, sixty-seven billion rupees have been allocated in the current budget for the treatment of hepatitis and diabetes. Additionally, eight billion rupees have been set aside in the upcoming budget for the provision of cardiac stents.

The minister highlighted that Pakistan has the highest number of hepatitis patients in the world. In response, the government plans to launch a project aimed at raising awareness and helping to eliminate various diseases.
