Washington: Pakistan’s Ambassador to the US Rizwan Saeed Sheikh met with Chairman of the U.S. House Armed Services Committee Mike Rogers and discussed bilateral relations. The Ambassador emphasized that last year marked significant progress in Pakistan-U.S. relations and expressed optimism that the scope of bilateral cooperation would be further expanded this year.
According to Radio Pakistan, Ambassador Sheikh highlighted concerns regarding India’s behavior, describing it as irresponsible and aggressive, which he stated posed serious threats to regional security. He noted that the potential for confrontation between the two nuclear-armed states has expanded beyond conventional warfare, now encompassing advanced technologies.
The Ambassador underscored that the core issue requiring attention between Pakistan and India remains the right to self-determination for the Kashmiri people. He stressed the importance of continued U.S. engagement and commitment for achieving sustainable regional peace and stability.
