Safe City Islamabad Boosts Crime Prevention Efforts

Islamabad, Safe City Islamabad has significantly bolstered its role in crime prevention within the capital, as per recent statistics from the Islamabad Capital Police. In the first four months of 2024 alone, the initiative has been instrumental in the resolution of numerous cases, contributing to the city’s safety and security.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, under the leadership of Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Safe City Islamabad has processed 1,112 cases, successfully tracing 433 cases and aiding in the apprehension of suspects involved. Furthermore, the project has provided essential support to 250 investigation officers, enhancing their ability to track down culprits efficiently.

The DIG of Safe City/Traffic underscored the critical role of the city’s advanced surveillance system. The network of modern cameras installed along both internal and external routes of Islamabad has been pivotal in preventing criminal activities and ensuring the protection of citizens’ lives and properties. These cameras contribute to solving approximately 42% of crimes in the area.

The local authorities encourage citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or individuals directly through the Islamabad Police helpline “Pucar-15” or the “ICT-15” app, facilitating rapid response and potentially preventing crimes before they occur.
