Saudi Television Starts Urdu News Bulletin

Islamabad: The Saudi TV Channel-2, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has started Urdu News bulletin from Friday 23rd September, 2011. The Urdu bulletin has been started on the initiative of the Ambassador of Pakistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, who in a meeting with the Minister for Information and Culture Dr. Abdul Aziz Khoja on 20th August, 2011 had proposed the telecasting of Urdu News Bulletin by the Saudi TV.

The Ambassador while thanking the Saudi Government and the Minister for Information and Culture Dr. Abdul Aziz Khoja on his own behalf and on behalf of the Pakistan Community in the Kingdom for commencement of regular Urdu News Bulletin on Saudi TV Channel-2 said that the prompt action by the Minister for Information and Culture on his proposal was laudable, says a press release received here today from Jeddah.

He said that Urdu News Bulletin on the Saudi TV was an important step for strengthening brotherly relations between the two countries.

The Ambassador while welcoming the step said that the Urdu News telecast will go a long way to serve the needs of the Urdu knowing community in the Kingdom and will enable them to keep themselves abreast with the policies and socio-economic development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He said that the bulletin will be of great advantage to the pilgrim during their stay in the Kingdom. The Ambassador said that the community has widely appreciated the steps and have termed it a mild stone in relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
