Secretary Excise and Taxation has directed the officers of the department to expedite the pace of recovery so as targets fixed for the current year

Peshawar: Secretary Excise and Taxation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Akbar Khan has directed the officers of the department to expedite the pace of recovery so as targets fixed for the current year could hundred per cent be achieved adding that meetings of the department in this regard would regularly be convened every month till June 2012.

He was presiding over a review meeting of the Excise and Taxation Department at his office Peshawar on Tuesday. The meeting was also attended by Additional Secretary Excise and Taxation Abdul Hameed Khan, Director General Excise and Taxation, Nazar Hussain shah and Excise and taxation officers of various districts of the province.

The meeting discussed in detail the matters relating to targets fixed for the current year and tabled some viable proposals in this respect.

The Secretary while addressing the meeting said that the capacity building of the Excise and Taxation Department had been made and therefore now officers should make result oriented efforts. He also underlined the need of completion of surveys being conducted in different areas of the province and directed the officers concerned to ensure its computerization. The Secretary maintained that the ratio of recovery of taxes for the current year should also be maintained hundred percent like the previous year and regularly hold the meetings with the staff members to further improve the efficiency, he added.
