Security Cover Withdrawn for 57 VIPs in Jammu and Kashmir by BJP-Led Administration

Srinagar: In a controversial move, the BJP-installed administration in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) has withdrawn the security detail for 57 VIPs, including prominent politicians, former judges, police officers, and journalists, raising concerns about their safety amid escalating tensions.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the decision, executed by the State Level Committee of the BJP-led administration, is seen by some as a strategic move to expose these individuals to potential attacks, linking such incidents to Kashmiri freedom fighters. Among those affected are former ADGP Munir Ahmad Khan, ex-Mayor of Srinagar Junaid Mattoo, and several other notable figures such as retired Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and former MP Sharif Din Shariq. The administration’s actions have sparked significant debate about the motives and potential consequences for those stripped of their security amidst a volatile political environment.
